Miranda Rumina
As a multimedia artist, Miranda has worked creatively since 1990 in various techniques and types of art: painting, sculpture, installations, video and digital art, collage, photography, design, literature. As a creative director of the Kerubin Art society, she managed Kerubin Gallery in Izola, Slovenia (2004-2008). In 2009, she founded Kerubin Art Centre in Auroville, India. She moved to London in 2014 and had her first UK group exhibition in the 5th Base Gallery in 2016. Around that time, Kerubin was renamed ZEN+.
As an internationally established artist, she has worked prolifically around the world (Italy, UK, France, Germany, Thailand, India, USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand...) and has had around 180 solo and group exhibitions, very often in important and iconic institutions such as the main Slovenian cultural centre Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana Castle, the National Museum of Slovenia, the Slovenian Ministry of Defence, Konstanz town hall (Germany), Pavilion of Tibetan Culture (Auroville, India), UN International Peace Institute (Manama, Bahrain), Palais de l’Europe (Strasbourg, France), European Committee of the Regions (Brussels, Belgium).
Miranda has participated in the International biennale of Contemporary art in Florence, Italy, successfully exhibited at the Summer International biennale in Lulea, Sweden, and has been prestigiously awarded at the International ExTempore in Izola, Slovenia. As a Slovenian living abroad, she attended four artist colonies in her home country.
She has published three novels (Lydia, Codex, The New Book), two sets of artistic cards (Angels, 108 Simple Koans) and a fairy tale The Little Mermaid and Her Dolphin as a book and animated app.
She has cooperated with over 150 sponsors, including Benetton, Porsche, Toyota, Ikea, glass factory Steklarna Rogaska and port Luka Koper. Miranda is one of the international painter ambassadors of the Women in Art for Peace movement.
Besides her wide and constant artistic activity, she has been dedicated to promoting healthy food and ecology for over 30 years, often as an ambassador of initiatives and actions intended to raise ecological awareness.
